To improve the quality of education, it has become essential to improve the teaching skills and knowledge of the teachers in the subjects they teach. The Centre for Faculty Development started by Anna University conducts faculty development training programmes to cater to the needs of faculty members. The Centre trains the teachers to plan and prepare the lessons, understand the subject contents and improve the teaching quality. These programmes are conducted during the Summer / Winter Vacations to enable the teachers to participate and benefit.

The Centre for Faculty Development of Anna University, Chennai, conducts the EDUSAT live interactive audio-video lecture programmes transmitted through KU-Band provided by ISRO, Bangalore, from January 2006 onwards.

The Centre for Faculty Development also conducts the web content audio-video lecture programmes. A group of well-experienced experts from our University has delivered lectures for various subjects from EEE, ECE, CSE and Mech. Engineering. The main goal of e-Yantra project is to develop core engineering skills in our students to inspire them to look upon themselves as “problem solvers for society” and also to train the students in advanced level, to make them on a par with industry needs.
